Customize Synagogue Service Pages, Templates, Roles, and Honors
Service customization in iLeyn lets a synagogue shape how its services are structured, from reusable service templates to the honors, service roles, prayers, and reading detail fields each service tracks. Administrators set these presets once so every new service starts from the format their community actually uses, and any individual service can still be adjusted further.
A service template holds the honors, service roles, prayers, and assignment detail fields you expect for a given format, such as Shabbat morning or a weekday minyan. When you schedule a service you pick the matching template so its structure is already in place, and you can customize the details from there.
iLeyn ships common items as presets you can add, and you can also create custom honors, service roles, and prayers for practices unique to your congregation. These items can be set up at the organization level, on a service template, or directly on an individual service.
Assignment detail fields let you record the specifics each reading needs, so a reading can carry the extra information your gabbaim rely on. Services also keep member-facing notes and admin-only notes, so planning details stay attached to the right service.
Honors and service roles can require a designation, so only members who hold that designation are eligible to be assigned or to claim the item. That keeps specialized roles limited to the members qualified to fill them while everyday assignments stay open.
Customization is upstream of almost everything else in iLeyn. The template you build is what scheduling starts a service from; the honors and roles you define become the items members claim or request; the designations you attach decide who is eligible; and the assignment detail fields you add are the columns that can print on a bima sheet. Setting this up once means every downstream feature already speaks your community's language.
